Advice

For an advice you can enter the details of your roof and the app will calculate the optimal setup for your roof. With a flat roof, the width and the length of the surface should be entered exclusive the distance of the eaves. The regulations for the required distance to the eaves varies by country.

The efficiency of solar panels differs by region. The App needs your location and a solar panel to calculate the output. Select tab 'Map' to determine your location and select a solar panel in the tab 'Settings’.

The advice is calculated with the selected panel the tab ‘Settings’. If the list of panels in the tab 'Settings' contains more than one panel, then the highest output of the other panels will be calculated too. The list will be displayed and sorted by output.

To display the details of a setup of another solar panel, it should be selected in the tab ‘Settings’.

You can select a panel in the list of solar panels. On the right you can see the characteristics of the panel and in the standard version of the App, you can define a custom panel.

On a pitched roof the panels will be mounted flat on the roof. On a flat roof the panels will be placed in an angle with standards. The value that a flat roof will define (and therefore the use of standards shall require) differs by region and can be changed in the tab 'Settings'.

The minimum inclination of a panel on a flat roof is different by region. Usually the manufacturer will give only under certain conditions the warranty. A condition may be that the inclination must be at least 10°.

The reason is that at a smaller angle the rainwater will stay on the panel, leaves and debris will not rinse off and moss can grow on the panel.

On a flat roof, it is desirable that the rows of solar panels are not in each other's shadow throughout the whole year. To calculate the distance between the rows of solar panels is the sun angle in winter important (because the low angle of the sun). The advice shall be calculated by placing the rows so that they are not in each other's shadow throughout the year.
